Day in the regional
Can somebody give me an in-depth and detailed look as to what a first year regional FO pay and work schedule would be? How many days on/off per week? How much would starting pay realistically be? How much flight time per month? And how many duty/commuting hours per day? Assume I work for Skywest, Republic or PSA.
Thanks! |

Really? ?? Dude you need your rear end kicked for asking those questions on here with a new thread ......smh
Why spend hours and hours combing through idiot posts like yours when he can get what he wants in a couple minutes by asking a specific question? Work smart not hard. If you don't want to answer then don't. |

First year at a regional differs depending on how quickly you can get off reserve. I was only on reserve for 3 months, two of which I commuted to reserve. But I seriously considered 1) moving or 2) quitting because commuting to reserve is a special kind of hell. The third month of reserve I was home based and that is glorious. You have a guaranteed 11 to 10 days off a month but for the most part they won't use you every day so you get way more days at home. For instance I had the entire month of January off one year and got paid to sit around at home and spend time with my family.
Moral of the story: don't commute to reserve. And then being a line holder is fine it's an immediate pay raise pretty much but you work the not so great trips like 16hr 4 days, 12hr 3days, or 8hr 2days. As a reserve I would take home about 2600 a month. As a line holder I'd take about 3200. Then before you know it you're on second year pay taking home the big bucks! (4000 a month or so.) did I mention we are under paid? this my experience at Skywest. |
