Nothing I said was untrue. Most does not mean everyone. Your friend is probably not part of the majority.

So if Delta Song and United Ted staffed larger airplanes with junior FO's in senior positions, out of seniority, and that was still going on, the Delta and United pilots wouldn't care anymore? Sure

I hate to interrupt the fun here, but is there any new info about an increased pay rate here? beyond this does anyone know how long it could take someone to hold ORD as a base?

Then you know your friend is well connected at American. His dad is a captain there, and I believe he did an internship as well.

I have Gojet on my resume and would gladly pay $50,000 to get if off if I could plus 20% of all future earnings. Gojet is not an option that should be considered by someone who wants a career as an airline pilot. I don't care if you live in the base, it is not a good choice. Even if they have suddenly started treating people nicely it will not override the negatives that will be cast upon you. For those of you who are too stupid to listen to the many many people who have warned you either in person, on this site or another (notice the opinions will be pretty uniform and unanimous), then I welcome you aboard and will feel very sorry for you when your optimism meets reality. It will happen at some point when you are already down such as being sick or a family member being sick.

I have not seen the contract yet but am told that for a captain there is a 7% raise and no signing bonus. I am sure that first year pay will be much higher and maybe second year pay. That will help them for a year. The contract is for 5 years.

So, during a severe pilot shortage when other companies are giving pilots 20k/year bonuses to stay, the bottom paying airline whose contract ran out 4 years ago wants to pay their pilots 7% more. In the last 4 years there has been 6.5% inflation so the pilots get a .5% raise.

All regional pilots understand something that people in other professions don't, pay is not a factor to consider, other than first year pay. After that what matters is, and only is, flying time, total and PIC. At Gojet, the owner resents every single dollar in salary and benefits that you are paid and that is how it should be because you are getting PIC time. The less you make the less you will make and the more you will have to fly to pay for food and medical. The more you fly the faster you will build your time and the faster you will get to a major airline. The incentive to build time is therefore enhanced. We complain yet it is the best thing for us. Like working out - no pain no gain!

I cannot tell you how great a deal this is for pilots. With salaries not going up we will continue to have no pilots coming into the system. The shortage will increase and at some point pilots will get a raise. Thank you Gojet for leading the way in helping to create and sustain this pilot shortage! Thank you Gojet pilots for what will allow pilots from other airlines to leave for Gojet as direct entry captains.

Anyone who has a Gojet pilot on his jumpseat or who passes a Gojet pilot in a terminal needs to stop and thank that pilot for being part of something that is doing more to keep the pilot shortage growing and will eventually result in you being paid more money! Feel the love!

Thank you Gojet pilots. I was wondering who would be at the bottom a year from now. That issue is now settled for the next 5 years. Unbelievable.

Pay rate is $36.75 first year. ORD right off IOE. Don't go there....I just left and it's bad right now. Lots of canceled flights due to staffing and pay issues.
