E-145XR or E175?
What one would you fly ? Is the cockpit truly a lot bigger in the 175 than the 145?
|
Screw those choices.
The B1900 is what the ladies like. |
Who cares..
OTOH do you know where you will want to be after you finish that last leg of a crappy 4-day? The driver's seat of your car as you drive home. Start from here. |

I don't know why anyone even asks questions about aircraft on this forum. The responses are so predictable.

Pick the shiny one! The size of one's regional jet matters.

Whichever pays more and gives you a better QOL.

It's all about the pay and quality of life dude. After a while, they all look the same, as do the hotel rooms. I will fly the hangar's door if it means better scheds and pay...

The 145 is a Honda Civic: spartan with wind down windows and crisp'ish handling. The 175 is a Ford Taurus: softer suspension, a little more power, a little more room, the same gadgets as the big boys, but disconnected handling. Which one would you like to spend a day in? The prep work to block-hour ratio will be higher on the 145 as you spend more time between flights with a greater number of legs. Thus the opportunity for anomalies and delay increase. People on APC like to downplay the importance of the aircraft since that attitude is in vogue right now for different reasons. The truth is that you will be spending a lot of time in the airplane. It is your livelihood. Therefore the amount of stress you subject yourself to is significant to your quality of life. All else being equal I would suggest the 170 series over the older model. But reality is rarely so. Consider your company's base structure and your relative seniority before the airframe. Those will have a bigger impact in your life. |

Pick the one with the best paint job... Since you'll have 30 Facebook selfies with it... Than you will realize your job sucks and no one really cares except for the crack heroine ***** that you give ten dollars to on the BUF overnight.
