It was COMPLETELY new to all of us at one point and we did our research and figured it out. Everything you need to know is on this forum. Grab a chair, and start reading. No one can tell you will be the best choice for you because everyone's circumstances are different. It's tough to say where the best choice to go is right now. There are lots of good opportunities out there right now though. I personally wouldn't even bother applying until your a couple months away. This segment of the airline industry changes so incredibly fast that it is almost pointless to even worry about it until then.

I just got an interview offer! A postcard; in the mail.

It was from a well-known regional, addressed to me, or---I kid you not---

"Current Resident."

It appears that if your name is in the FAA database with an ATP, you will get an interview.....

I wonder if I should call and tell them I've been at a Legacy for nearly two decades.....

Which regional airlines would be best?
Which ones offer a contractual employment offer prior to reaching the minimums?

I've thought about Air Wisconsin, Envoy, PSA, Piedmont, ExpressJet and a few others... Which would be the best option because I literally don't know much about the airline industry...
What school are you going to? A lot of them seem to have Instructor Pipeline schemes in place with regionals or they get visited by recruiters all the time, so not sure why yours is missing out on all that. In any case, apply away and get as much interview time experience under your wing as you're able to, so you can get some first hand knowledge about their ops; then, choose the one that fits you best . . . with your times and the foreseeable demand for regional FOs, it shouldn't be that hard to land a good gig at all!

I do not apply for the R-ATP, I know they accept so many sim hours and will give you so many. If this is the case, I'm hoping to show up to class with 1400ish. I mean 25 flight hours is one weeks flight time in my case

It would be even worse if you don't get an offer but Snickers does.

Is it frowned upon to interview at multiple airlines? Every interview I went to I was told to explore my options and interview at a couple different places, while others say once you get offered a CJO and do not accept it , you will never be able to attain that position in the future .

I hope that's not the case. I interviewed at a number of regionals and then made a choice. I liked the interview process because it let you see what the company was like and actually meet the people. In the end it came down to how I felt about the place after the interview and what kind of fit it was for me. In come cases it was encouraged to "shop around" to make the best decision. I never once had someone say that if I didn't take the CJO, I would never be hired by them again.

Buyers market these days....
