switching from a R-ATP to regular ATP

Got all my hours finally. Who's done the process to getting the restriction removed? I'm not sure what the process is and can't find any info

All the information you want is in N8900.310

I'm assuming you dont want to read the entire document so I will give you the cliff notes version.
N8900.310 reads:

8. Designee Removal of ATP Certificate Limitations Issued in Accordance with §§ 61.159 and
61.160.
a. Designated Pilot Examiners. A DPE authorized to issue an ATP certificate may remove
the limitations by verifying the pilot meets the minimum age and aeronautical experience
requirements. The applicant only needs to present satisfactory evidence that he or she has met
the age requirement of § 61.153(a)(1) and the aeronautical experience requirements of §
61.159, as applicable (refer to § 61.160(g) and (h)). The applicant must complete section III—
Record of Pilot Time, on FAA Form 8710-1, Airman Certificate and/or Rating Application
Supplemental Information and Instructions, to be issued an unrestricted ATP certificate.
If you get it done with an inspector at the FSDO the FISMS contains the following:

FISMS 8900.1 CHG 295, Volume 5, Chapter 3 reads:
5) Removal of a Restriction on an ATP certificate. An inspector will remove the limitations
that are placed on the ATP certificate for an airplane category multiengine class rating when the
applicant presents satisfactory evidence that he or she has met the age requirement in §
61.153(a)(1) and the aeronautical experience requirements in § 61.159, as applicable. Reference
§ 61.160(g) and (h). The applicant must complete section III – Record of Pilot Time, on FAA Form
8710-1, to be issued an unrestricted ATP certificate.

Jesus that was quick. Idk how I missed that info when searching for it. Thanks

Yeah, more simply, if there's a FSDO near you, make an appointment, and they can tell you what you need to do/bring. Might just need to bring your current R-ATP cert, logbook, DL, and possibly an 8710 just so they have a quick and easy layout of your hours.

Basically all I did. Went and made an appointment and it took about an hour. Looked through my logbook and filled out an 8710 and did the issuance right there.

Be ready to explain your logbook and hours. Most do look through it and sometimes they find an entry or 2 that makes them go hmmmmm. If you went to an Aviation university they also might not be aware of some credits and how you are applying them.

I brought both my paper and electronic logbooks. (Made it easier to see the totals on the Elec one but to show that I did have all the sign off s in my original paper book)

If you're at OO I can give you a number. Did everything over the phone/email with the SLC FSDO.

I asked about this when I finished training and was told the easiest way is just to have the company do it when I come back for recurrent. I came in with everything but the cross country time.

AWAC does all the work for you (you just fill out the form). They actually sent out an announcement a few months ago telling the pilots not to do it themselves.

+1 I left mine as a R-ATP until I upgraded and that took care of it. Easy as pie, plus I was too lazy to deal with a FSDO.
