What happens if you turn a regional down?
Hello all,
In a world of many choices and interviews to find the regional that will fit best, what if you get offers from multiple different regionals, but prefer one over the other for various reasons? Once you call up the other regionals and tell them (politely), sorry I won't be making it to class, will you have ruined your chances of ever working for them in the future if you decide later down the road you want to work for them? Or will they never want to hire you after you turned them down a long time ago? Thanks! |
A close friend of mine turned down a regional. They told him that if he changes his mind at any time to not hesitate and call back. Lol. Seriously

You're banned from the regionals for life.

I wanted to make a joke here but....
I turned down a regional I was hired at in February and called back in late August. I was still hired, no questions asked. I treated them with respect when I was offered the job. They are still desperate and returned the favor. |

You create a YouTube channel called "Going Sterile" because you ended up at Mesa.

You probably just burned a bridge for the rest of your life and you will probably have nightmares about it .

I turned down Skywest for basing reasons. I tried to be polite about it and told the recruiter that in other circumstances they would have been my first choice. There were no hard feelings and she said to get back in touch if I ever changed my mind. Maybe in a different environment there would be more consequences but not in today's world.
