Bose Corp is the latest company trying to make another dollar off of you without your permission. Bose Connect, the companion app to the swag $350 Bose headphones, is not the Jane to your Jack that maybe we all hoped it to be.

My headset was supposed to ship this last week. I hadn't received it yet so out of curiosity I checked the website to make sure I had the dates right in my mind, only to find out they pushed it back a month! I know they have my e-mail so why didn't they send me anything? I don't appreciate that I have to go digging for information. I was excited to ditch my lightspeeds, but I have not heard good things about this new management and it seems to be true.

Heard back from uflymike today, I am canceling my order.

This is what they had to say;

"The mold was delivered on April 13th, the samples were made and sent to us and they were not right. The engineer has been working on the design and it is supposed to go back to the mold company for another refinement. We probably won’t have completed cables for ANOTHER TWO WEEKS.

We have not had complete Harmony packages to ship for several weeks so we are running behind."

Yes.

Much better (German) construction that the garbage (new model) UFM. It's nice because it works on older model Bose as well as newer ones. The clamp attachment is much more durable and very easy to use.

All that being said, since we are now in the IPad/EFB/lightweight/minimalist era I made the switch to the QT Halo.

ZERO weight, ZERO head clamp, ZERO batteries and MUCH QUIETER than the Bose set up. Separate audio controls and an input line for "other" audio use 😉. They are made by an audiologist and are clearly designed with hearing protection in mind.

I use the "comply like" foam tips and have a pair of earbuds (for personal use) that use the same tips and they're interchangeable.

The entire setup weighs less than batteries for the Bose and takes up less space than one ear muff. Best move I ever made.

I'm really interested in ditching the David Clamps and going to something that doesn't give you headset head (or headaches). While the Halos generally receive good reviews, they're not TSO'd, right? I realize it's silly to pay hundreds more for a simple certification, but peace of mind is nice with all the overzealous Feds about.

So I've been seriously looking into the Clarity Aloft Pro or Pro Plus. People say the non-TSO'd over-the-ear boom is actually nicer than the Pro, which I guess gave rise to the higher priced Pro Plus? Anyhow, fairly sure I'm going to get it, but wanted to ask if anyone has a recommendation for Pro vs Pro Plus (over or under boom). Thanks!
