DOT changes how it reports on-time stats

Airline On-Time Rates Are About to Get Worse - Bloomberg

PSA help 10-21-2016 11:17 AM

American's percentage is going to improve if it includes PSA's flights. On time arrivals are over 90%.

Finally. About time. I'm still upset they have excluded the smaller regional carriers. The carriers' ontime percentage should reflect its entire operation including subcontractors.

They didn't mention which 6 regionals would now be included in the statistics. Reporting fail.

PSA is that low, 90%.

On time arrivals? It seams like American is all about on time departures, and shooting any stragglers left behind at the gate, including their own.

They need to include GoJet... but that might just cause a 50% drop overnight

Interesting....Now, makes me wonder what this will do to how the majors plan block hours and frequency in certain markets.

Probably the best performing regionals will be shifted into the crappiest places to operate and the crap regionals will be shifted into the easier to operate hubs.... Oh wait, that's already happened.

Per the United Express monthly reports they have been one of the top 2 or 3 performers for the past 7 months or so. I hate to say it but XJT is probably one of the worst.

Or, at least until United finishes installing the new parking sensors at all the gates in DEN and elsewhere that will sense pushback as block out and bust GoJets for all the times they close up, drop brake, and then sit at the gate for 20 minutes without moving.

Those are the ones who will now be subject to the new rule. There are a couple more that already reported because they were above the 1% threshold.
