EMB 145 Type Ratings

Where else besides Flight Safety can you get typed in the EMB 145?

Can you give specific locations, costs, etc.?

Also, which outfit would have the best type rating program with the best instructors?

I think ExpressJet or Envoy would have the best E145 instructors. The cost is free and you get a $20,000 bonus to go to Envoy. So, -$20,000 per year.

CAE had one in Phoenix...not sure if they still do. I know they did a lot of Legacy training there.

I think CAE shut down their Gateway Ops about 2 years ago.

I can't fathom why anyone would self fund a type.

Because Bro, you might be able to get a 3 day head start on your peers and beat them to a major by 6 years.

So, no one seemed to answer the original question. I'm guessing Flight Safety is the only place where you can get EMB 145 Sim time in the states?

Why do you want to buy your own type?

Maybe he is doing research for a corp flight department that is looking at the E145.

And he's asking a question to people who have zero% to do with the amount of money it takes to get a type and sim availability?

Have you looked further abroad than the US?

I think SAS academy in Sweden had a 145 Sim there.

When I was with a company dry hiring their B412 helicopter sim there were other pilots doing fixed wing FAA type ratings there.

You should try calling up CAE, Flight Safety and other sim training centers and get the info from them

A E145 Type worth as much as a Cessna 172 type.... Go for a better type like the E175. It will make you more marketable.

CptnSnoopDizzle 11-01-2016 01:28 PM

Paying for a type rating is just as stupid as signing a training contract.. Never do either

More marketable to whom? airlines don't care about what type of ****ty version of any RJ someone is flying. There are a ton more EMB145 type rating jobs in the corporate world with the Legacy family of aircraft. Hardly any EMB175 flying corporate.
