I agree 100%, I would love to see more mainline flying, less RJ flying more mainline jobs :)

So if boeing comes out with a 737-RJ....

And yes, there are many cfi's who just can't wait to be airline pilot and would happily fly these planes for nothing. This is evident by Mesa, GoJet and Trans States, Great Lakes, Regions Air, etc. You know the place sucks and you still go there just so you can say you are an airline pilot. Who would want to fly around Colorado in a B1900 for $15/hour without an autopilot?
anyway back to the subject. yes mainline guys have all the say in this one, so it will be interesting to see what happens. its interesting though that AA has done away with their F100's and have no plans whatsoever to replace them. I wonder what theyre going to replace the 80's with. umm i mean "super" 80's |

This means the RJ is officially dead. The Ejet is here. Legacy pilots must demand that Ejets be flown at narrowbody rates by legacy pilots, not regional partners.

 Step away from the pipe....We couldn't even demand that 50 seaters, 69 seaters, 72 seaters, 76 seaters, 86 seaters be flown by mainline...this will be no different. Relax, it only makes it hurt that much more:mad:
wait so why cant you guys do something about it this time. before it was to preserve pay rates, but now theres nothing to protect so make it happen and try to get that pay back in the process |
Republic and Shuttle America pilots top out higher in the 190 than a "mainline" pilot would with USair.

Mesa's current contract doesnt allow for anything that weighs this much. I encourage Mesa ALPA and all other airline pilots to ASSURE that this goes mainline. Mesa pilots also need to resist the urge to allow this to be operated under GO in Hawaii. JO is just slobbering all over this thing... don't let him have it.

Believe me, I want you to have your dream airline job. As long as you don't degrade yourself by stopping at B6, VX or Skybus along the way.

What's so different between this things and boeing 717?

Exactly right. That means enforcing scope clauses. No Ejets for regional operators. Ejets need to be flown by mainline pilots at mainline rates.
Enough of the grandstanding. I asked you what your ideas were regarding 'legacy' pilots and what they were supposed to do. Why don't you spell it out? |
