I asked the CPO. I mentioned that word on the street is that at 4 in 12 it's a Step 1. He said that's nothing more than a rumor. He said that yes, there are guys getting called in at 4 in 12, but there's always more to the story and other issues than just 4 in 12.

Anybody have any thoughts on if I should go 145 LGA or ORD? I live in Denver and will be commuting. I've read all of the previous posts, and it seems like LGA reserve is much shorter, as it's picking up more flying and people bid out. And it seems like the block per trip you get out there is better than ORD. But, the commute will certainly be harder. I'm leaning towards LGA since reserve is so much shorter there than ORD, and commuting to reserve doesn't sound like much fun. Then, when my seniority allows holding a line in ORD or DFW, I can bid that. Is that thought process on track, or do you veterans have other insights?

Thanks for everyone's help ahead of time!
Dfw or ord prob would be better choices because of more 1 leg flights for a commute imo.

Have had 4 in 12 recently. Now just on 3 in the rolling 12 and not a peep. It has to do with a bunch of factors to get a call and a nice CPO meeting. (Length of call and timing are examples)

There's always more to the story...but good luck getting that through to some of this crowd. I'm sitting on 4 sick calls myself. The 5th fell off in November. Never heard a peep from anyone about it.

Just like their online love affair with Spanier. Neal used one of his many screen names on Eagle Lounge to convince everyone he's being persecuted for having a sinus infection and picking up pizza. Unfortunately the real story is much worse.

If anyone here at Envoy has ever shared a status with Neal, DFW FO or DFW CA then I guarantee you have had to work extra because of him. His history of not working goes back years, and as soon as he was able to punch out on SA it got worse. Much worse. Sinus infection and pizza? Try punching out on FMLA and getting caught playing golf. And working a side business. All while your fellow pilots have to cover the flying you were supposed to be doing. And then when you are caught-twice-you lie about it. Twice.

But by all means...keep throwing your hard earned money at him. Hook, line, and sinker. And now this 4 sick call crap. Seriously...

Is it ok to play golf with a sinus infection? Is it ok to fly with a sinus infection?

I haven't ever had 4 sick calls in a year, but I was told by a union rep that the union grieved the 4 in 12 policy, and lost when an arbitrator ruled (for whatever reason) that it is reasonable to expect pilots to be healthier than other people. The reason the grievance went to an arbitrator is because the company fought to maintain their policy. For the record I haven't read the ruling but was told this directly.

Yes to the first question, no to the second.

Thanks ord. I don't see the problem either. Is there a problem with legally working the contract?
