Absolutely ask a recruiter. And I've personally known about 10 envoy pilots, CAs and FOs both, that have been hired outside of the flow. They varied from former interns, former military pilots, minorities and females. These are the big things that help your app get noticed. And AA is very big on volunteer work too. Anyone who says that just because you're at a WO you have no chance of getting to AA outside of the flow is simply wrong.

Absolutely not. Just like everything, it's all seniority based.

No.
R-ATP mins at 751 or 17,501 is all the same. It's all based on seniority.

For anyone wondering about the staffing situation for Captains on the ERJ, look at the latest flow plan. I counted over 50 Captains hitting the line between now and July before I stopped counting. And that is just in DFW. Just on the latest flow plan. More vacancies and upgrades to come. I would say Reserve for DFW Captains is about to get very short.

I'm on the CRJ my self. The guys above me are pretty senior. If you are on the CRJ right now there will be alot of movement. Most FOs will be upgrading here soon. So reserve on the CRJ will move quickly if you are on it.

One thing to consider.... a lot of the recent CA upgrades for DFW EMJ have accepted jobs as sim instructors at the school house. I know of at least 8 that have upgraded since December that are now off on S.A. getting their sim quals.

Smart move if you ask me, they get to by pass the reserve hell and multiple JMs that this company has to offer.

They are listed on the flow plan as XCE. Anyone with a DCE status is not a sim instructor. So anyone you see as DCE, as mentioned in my previous post, is a line flying Captain.
