Looks like Bristol bay isn't a safe haven anymore. Ch. 11 and the competition is making it's moves on their territory. Ouch

So long as Danny’s hubris is running the company then the future is very grim unless bought. Trying to maintain a two fleet type company with so few routes won’t work... especially with Saab 2000’s. They’re an orphaned fleet with very few and very expensive parts. It restricts your small pilot groups versatility since you essentially have two pilot groups. A 340 Reserve can’t go fill in for a sick 2000 guy.
Never seen an airline go out of business flying a small plane that was always full... can’t say the same for flying an empty too big plane.
DS refuses to give up on operating a larger plane, and its going to drag the company down with it.
The single fleet type using 340B’s was they way to reorganize for maximum efficiency. Sadly they didn’t do that, and that’s why the pilots who seen how that rodeo ends have all left for greener pastures. The only ones there now live close to their two bases and will ride it into the ground and then start commuting again.
Boston looks to be losing both of the year round EAS routes and the Bar Harbor seasonal wont support the operation. They have a sizable ground service business there, but I believe Massport requires you to fly in/out of the airport to be eligible to provide contract ground services.
Sad really. Many people tried to tell him back in 2016 to stop trying to open new pilot bases in the onset of a pilot shortage. To instead increase pilot compensation right away to aid retention. Sadly they waited until it was too late.
The extra 1 million buys them some time to make the hard decisions. Keeping the 2000’s will kill the company.

There is a mass exodus going on. I’ve never seen so many guys leaving or job hunting. I will be surprised if they can cover the April 340 flights. The 2000 side is ok for the next month or two but the FOs on the 2000 are all actively job hunting. I betting Chapter 7 comes in June or July.

I know its a PenAir thread, but since you asked...
Ravn is loosing pilots fast on both the FO and CA sides. The new management hasn't done a thing to address pilots' concerns or to attract new pilots. In short, schedules suck (mostly because there aren't enough pilots to cover the flying), pay policy is screwed up (hence you can't really trade/drop days etc.), you only get 2 (two!) sick days a year and if you get sick more than two days, which everyone does, you are forced to use your vacation time to cover it. There is a lot more to it, but those are the main issues.

Looks like SkyWest is doing well with the old routes in Denver. United in DEN
And they were awarded the Boston EAS contract as well. United BOS
With RAVN entering into direct competition with PenAir, even the home front isnt safe anymore.
Looks like the Ch.11 wont have a rosey ending. Hope everyone has a way out.
