I agree, especially the way things are going. I just don't know if people will be around that long to wait for a union to actually form. One or two more people drop from DEN and I think this place will become unsustainable. Schedules will become even worse, away from home for god lnows how long. It would not make sense to continue down this path much longer, especially with more and more leaving. It's became so much worse than what we were told.

Heard from a few of the PDX guys and it sounds like a Union Committee will be forming soon. I see things headed that way unless management makes good on some promises.

Just passing through, but...
That is in the company's best interests. You will ALWAYS be slower in cashing a mailed check than having it immediately deposited from the company's account. Especially if you're TDY'd to godforsaken BFE and won't get home to your mailbox for a month. It's called "float" and allows to co. to short other people/suppliers using your money to cover their deficit.
This is not an avenue any respectable outfit turns to.

A great leader has to be flexible, holding his ground on the major principles but finding compromises that can bring people together. A great leader has to be savvy at negotiations so we don't drown every idea in pork barrel bridges to nowhere. I know how to stand my ground - because I know that pilots don't know ****, and my common ground is the correct common ground.
I don't want to stop illegal schedules at this company. In fact, I would like to reform and increase illegal schedules in some important ways. Our current schedules offer too much time off with too much pay. They are upside down - they make it tough on the people we want here, and easy for the people we don't want. This company is a magnet for some of the smartest, hardest working people, yet we made it too easy for these bright people, who like a good qol. It's time for that to change.

Let's make PenAir great again!

To all current and future PenAir pilots,

We have read your concerns and are doing everything we can to improve QOL for everyone at the company. I would like to be the first to inform you that we have a new incentive program in the works. On the first Monday of every month a full sized snickers bar will be placed in each pilot and f/a's mailbox.* We are very excited to offer this to all of our flight crews and believe you will find that no other airlines currently have incentive programs quite like this in place. At PenAir we pride ourselves in being the airline that other airlines strive to become. Feel free to contact me directly with any questions regarding the "PenAir Satisfies" program.

*Offer subject to change at any time. Some rules and restrictions may apply. Offer not available in all states.

Not trying to dig on anyone at PenAir, but why would anyone with 1500 hours go there? If you live in Denver or almost any of the other lower 48 bases, you can work at almost any regional in larger more comfortable aircraft (except Boutique or great lakes).

If you live in Anchorage or anywhere in Alaska, you're going to get TDYed to Denver or somewhere else that's not Alaska....

What's drawing people to this company?
