Eagle Bridge Program Mins

Anyone know if the minimums for those who have a bridge program with Eagle have changed? I thought I heard 50 hours of multi or something along those lines? Any truth to this or is it still 500/100?

sflpilot 02-23-2007 07:42 PM

Just apply and see what they say. The minimums are getting lower every day.

The bridge program at our school is still 500/100. We have not been notified on anything different. Apply anyway and keep updating your times whenever you can.

Fly IFR 02-23-2007 11:44 PM

The posted mins. dropped down to 800/100. The mins for the bridge program from the university I graduated from are 700/100. Bottom line is, I bet they will never drop their mins of 100 multi, they might drop the total time down to whatever they want, but the multi I think will always stay at 100 for insurance purposes.

flynavyj 02-24-2007 09:43 AM

we had 500/100 at my school, and they were hard on the 100 hrs multi. Friend of mine sent a resume w/ 98 hrs multi, and they said, get two more hours and call us back.

Its 500/50 at my school, and people are getting hired with that like crazy.

Hey Jason, what school did you graduate from if you don't mind my asking?

sigep_nm 02-25-2007 12:23 AM

UND was showing 500 and 50 last time I saw...Its been a while but that was what was there....www.aero.und.edu. Aviation page, alumni and friends, job postings, flight, scroll down and you'll find it./

Illini 02-25-2007 07:27 AM

I did the internship so I get 500/100 but as soon as I graduate, they will have my resume.

U-I pilot 02-25-2007 08:55 AM

TSA posted 400/50 on that same UND site..... With so many places hiring so low time, why bother with an unpaid internship at a regional these days...... you time would be better spent doing a paid major airline internship and getting on at any regional once you graduate....

Have you seen how many regionals linked with ATP in recent months? Check out their website..... (hint: just about all of them) ..... Everyone is hurting for pilots right now.... get your ratings and a little time and send out the resumes.....just please know your $hit when you get to training...please

LAfrequentflyer 02-25-2007 09:43 AM

Did someone say ATP?

I go to WMU. They can't keep instructors right now. Everyone is off to regionals as soon as they meet the mins and their 6 month contract expires.

Wow...a thread about ever lowering the bar in airline pilot experience requirements. Warms my heart to think babysitting has come this far....

I can relate to this statement however it is a gross over-generalization. I've seen many 1000+ hour students come to training and not have a clue.....even those with jet experience....Its sad when holding procedures are a mystery to these people.

Experience and training is about quality not quantity... yes the times listed are very low, however this is a skill based business.... time doesn't make you qualified, skills do.

How much 'skill' does a 500 hour pilot have?

surfnfly 02-25-2007 10:53 PM

how much skill does a 2,500 hour erj pilot have who can't hand fly himself out of a wet paper bag have? I bet a 500 hour pilot fresh out of training has better "skills" hands down...the experience...maybe not...but, they are two completely different categories...you can't knock the "skills" of a completely competant human being until given the chance to prove themselves in the hot seat....

and then we hear people complain about low pay at the regionals...
what is "low"? is $20/hour low?
is a 400 hour pilot worth more than $20/hour? I think not.

So how do you differentiate the "value" of that 400 hour pilot vs the 3500hr pilot that is in the same newhire class?

What's the "value" of the 500 hour pilot with a hundred hours of turbojet simulator experience and systems knowledge, or a 500 hour pilot with a couple hundred hours of actual instrument and/or multi time, vs. the 2000hr pilot that has 1400 dual given in a Cessna 152, 100 multi in a Duchess bought in Florida, with little in the way of practical IFR experience?

Anybody flying an airliner full of people is worth more than $20/hr, regardless of the TT column of their logbook. You guys should know that...
