My mistake/oversight, then, if that’s normal.

Isn’t that less than drawing unemployment? (Did everyone else already know this and I’m just the idiot that had no idea? It’s certainly possible/likely!)

Not trying to be a smartass, honestly had no idea.

No. You are right. Most regionals are giving MMG plus per diem.

$60 per day is non taxed. Honestly, when MMG set in it really wasn't that much difference in pay after taxes.

Wasn't aware the $60 is untaxed. You're right, in that it wouldn't make that much of a difference.

What do people wash out for? Safety of flight, slow checklists, bad judgment, bad general knowledge, incorrect instrument procedures? Can anyone give examples of how people fell behind and washed out?

When someone washes out it is usually pretty hush hush. As a matter of fact, one person in my class didn't even know this particular person washed out until I told him out on the line a couple months later when I ran into him. The only reason I knew is that I just happen to be in the area when he was working with the admin lady on tickets to get home.

One person washed out because he couldn't keep up with the speed of 121 ops. The other person did because I assume he didn't put enough effort in. He was never in any group study.

Of the 18 in my class, only 12 remain on the sonority list. So there are still 4 people who I have no clue what happened to.

Thanks for the input. Is training subjective or very objective? What was the hardest part of training for you? What was your background, if you don’t mind me asking? I know some people say it doesn’t matter, but I definitely think it does since different backgrounds probably have differing amounts of experience in different areas.

Just like any other rating, you can have a harder or easier DPE then others. Out of the 18 people I think we had 6 different examiners, so almost everybody had different experiences.
