We have PBS (Preferrential Bidding System) where you bid for and build your line from an assortment of trips.
We have 1-5 days trips. The exact percentage of these trips varies from base to base. Some bases like LGA where there is a large number of RON aircraft (remain over night) has a preponderance of 1-2 day trips (usually >50% in any given month) but also has 3 and 4 day trips. Other bases such as IND may have as many as 30+% trips in a given month as 4 days but will have 1, 2, 3 and 5 day trips too.
Generally trips are fairly productive and many people hold mid 80’s+ credit hour lines with 15+ days off a month.
