If your goal is delta why not go to endeavor? Better pay and also a guarenteed delta interview. I’d say you’d have a better shot over there than republic going to a carrier like delta. Unless you just wanted Republic for a base of course

Recently, I have been hearing rumblings of people saying that major airlines don't like Republic much, or that they look down on Republic as a low-tier regional and their training is not very good.

Is there any validity to the statements that major airlines don't like Republic, or is that just false rumors?
Definitely a false rumor, wherever you heard that. As others have said, if you have your heart set on going to AA specifically, one of the 3 AA WOs is the best option. Last year, only 11% of the AA new hires came outside of the military or flow. As far as any other major or legacy, going to Republic won't give you a specific advantage or disadvantage over other airlines. What's most important is builidng your resume and being able to check the right boxes on the app. Become a check airman, volunteer, hit job fairs, network, etc. Republic offers great QOL and a good contract...it's a good option.

I know people from Rep. now at Jetblue, American and Southwest. Republic is top shelf most majors know that. But the application is about you, mostly.

That's a load of **** and sounds like something somebody would say who has been out of the industry for a few years and out of touch.

You have to do your own research, never rely on the word of other people who may have their own biases and 'ignorances'. When I was researching for a Regional, Republic was at the bottom of my list due to their bankruptcy issues and what people were saying on these boards. But all that changed suddenly when they came out of it. I ended up choosing to go here and have not regretted it a bit due to the high pay and QOL when in comparison to the other regionals I was considering.

The numbers say the Legacies don’t particularly like Republic pilots. Not sure what the reason is, but the quantitative data shows we don’t get much love. A total of 27 pilots have moved to the big 3 this year, but 15 of those were former military. A whopping 12 pilots have moved to the big 3 from republic, and mostly United. No idea how that stacks up with other regionals.

Then how can you qualify your first statement? A comparison to other regionals without flow, if someone has it, would tell you whether that is true or not. What do the Majors particularly dislike about Republic that puts their applications to the bottom of the pile as you say?

I’ve been at Republic for 8 years and 12 is an horrendous number. Definitely the lowest number I’ve seen since the hiring started back up. The big three have hired about 1400 so far this year, and yes that includes the flows at American. Adds up to about a 10 percent chance of moving to the Big 3 from Republic.
