Default How to deal with this?

I have a trip coming up that is not commutable on the last day back home. I have a memorial service that I need to attend that Sunday morning, but doing the turn on the Saturday would make it impossible for me to get back home in time for the service.

Is there a contact in the company that I can talk to about this? Im resigning here in a week and still have one last trip after this one. I understand they don't like people calling out on trips if they are leaving, but im trying to figure out how to go about this.

What the best way to deal with this without screwing my crew over on go home day and calling out of the turn and making up some BS when I arrive? Do they respect issues like this or they just gonna tell me to go pound sand. I've tried many times even added $$ on the turn to drop it, but no one is touching it.

Appreciate any help.

I have about 40 days on property, so forgive me if this information is not applicable to Republic. That being said, I was a crew scheduler for a year and a half at a different airline. My advice is to continue to attempt to drop or trade the trip away. I’d also contact your domicile assistant chief pilot and explain the situation. Maybe even email a copy of the obituary or the service pamphlet. It might be a little uncalled for, but at least it’s demonstrating that you’re not being nefarious. Stress that you want to complete the rest of the trip, as well as your last trip with the company. There’s a POSSIBILITY (at least there was at my previous airline, so again, sorry if this isn’t applicable) that the folks in scheduling get a call from your ACP telling them to drop the turn for PTO. I’m sorry for your loss, and good luck to you in your future!

Talk to Ashley or your ACP.

DiveAndDrive is correct. If you want to go about it legitimately, talk to your ACP. In the end, you can say you are UNA for the turn.

Try to drop it with scheduling, which most likely will not happen. Email the ACP email, which is available online. I would also call the Chief Pilot, because most of the ACPs suck. The Chief Pilot will help if they can cover the flying. If the company will not help, then unavailable is your last resort.
