Default AAC shenanigans

Curious how often AACs aren’t given priority on our AC because they show up after 30 minutes prior. Just got off a trip, and we had a issue in MIA with one of our FAs not getting on flight. He showed up 20 prior, but gate agent said the list had been cleared and it was a full flight. I’m lucky enough not to commute, so I’m not sure what the correct response should be. I emailed travel and they basically said the FA was SOL.

Do we get priority on republic metal? Or are we still after D2s?

We get priority on our own metal on AA and UA.

They should have given your flight attendant a seat. Unfortunately some AA agents are just too lazy to fix the issue....

Is there something we need to tell the gate agent? I've been bumped twice by PSA guys on our own metal. I just assumed that was how it goes on AA.

When you list for the flight, it will automatically put you below AA folks. You have to tell the gate agent that you work for YX, and they manually move you to the top of the list. I've heard some are stubborn about this, although I haven't experienced that myself. Might want to have the priority list handy to show them, as it says clearly at the bottom that we have priority on our own metal.

Travel department says you go to counter and tell gate agent you’re AAC Republic “traveling on own metal”. They will clear you before every other non-rev, but you need to ask for priority no later then 25 prior to departure. Had I known what was going own, then I would have made sure our FA got on that aircraft. It sounds like the union is working on the issue of AAC pilot not being able to list for JS as well. The way it is now doesn’t sound reciprocal to me, but I get we’re not a WO.

Yes you should tell the gate agent you’re Republic AAC. Also make sure the crew knows you’re there, because that will help the most.

Yeah but a AA WO crew member can list as a D2 and FDJ, which is still higher priority than if we had AAC FDJ... I feel like it's more than reasonable to ask for AAC FDJ. A D6 to list for the JS puts us in the same bin as literally everyone else. Why should I get bumped by an F9 guy as a possible D6 when they have literally nothing to do with AA or AA passengers, where we are the top performer...

I know at that point you have to talk to the captain and I would also call scheduling/ dispatch. They can acars the crew or call the CA’s phone to do the walk.
