Well he’s certainly accomplished that. Maybe not the regional of choice. But definitely the northeast regional. I honestly can’t remember the last time I left LGA for any significant time. Can’t go too far west of NY, it’s scary out that way.

I had offers from Skywest and Endeavor. Didn’t want to be a slave or sit hot reserve forever in between LGA and JFK, respectively. They offered me the ERJ at Skywest too. I chose Republic. Don’t regret it one bit. Happy to be here. Nice planes, Im not sitting at a airport for 8 hrs waiting. Also not getting thrown 2 more days of work after I thought I was going home! Again not about that slave life. Pilots are happy here. Can plan on 600+ hrs the first year on a ERJ. Your looking at 200 at Skywest on a ERJ. Your looking at reserve forever there and Endeavor. Not about that life. Now if you want to fly a 20 min leg crj 200.....🤡

Not sure what's wrong with the OP, but I have been at Republic for almost a year now and I absolutely love it. The crews are great, the aircraft are well maintained, and most of our trips are decent credit. I am not based in an out-station or an airport in New York, and I can hold a fairly high credit line. With all of the upgrades and hiring going on right now, there is some good movement happening on the FO side. Commuting can be stressful at times with our sub-par airline benefit priority, but I have never really had any big issues commuting from Florida; you just have to get creative. People like to complain about Republic having such large out-station bases, but it only makes sense when you are at the mercy of three codeshares. Instead of having to uproot entire bases to shift flying around (seems like Republic was known for that in the past), they can simply staff new flying at a certain hub by picking up an additional say IND-(Hub) leg. Unfortunately all of our schedules are governed by AA, DAL & UAL. Republic doesn't get to tell United that they want to add more flying in ORD, United tells us. Where we fly, when we fly, and how we fly is up to them.
I've had the privilege to talk to many other airline crewmembers while commuting over the past year. It is truly eye opening how miserable some of them are and it really makes you realize how good we have it here.

Ok, I'm new to this APC game and haven't seen if this has been posted anywhere yet. But, why Republic?
What does Republic offer that is SO much better than the other regionals? Why do we have FO's waiting a year for a class date? That's absurd. Sure, our contract is decent and QOL is ok for a regional, but it's still comical the way this company operates.
ORD has literally been obliterated, IAH is a joke... 30 captains nearly 2 years after opening. IAH and ORD are clearly only recruiting tools. Add MIA to that list. Every single hub is shrinking to what a freaking outstation should look like. Meanwhile CMH and IND have nearly QUADRUPLE the pilots as IAH and ORD. Republic is truly the east coast airline and the way they've shrunk major hubs in the midwest only proves it. Unless it affects IND, CMH or NY this company couldn't seem to care less. Once an FO upgrades it's NY or bust. Have fun in LGA.
I know regionals are just a stepping stone, but unless you live in an outstation or NY there's literally zero reason to choose YX. Envoy, Skywest, and Endeavor can provide so much more than this place. Sad. I don't post this to bash RPA. It's a GREAT regional for those that live in the aforementioned bases. I just want every young pilot to know what they're getting in to, if you chose Republic you will be handcuffed to the east coast your entire time here.

I think Republic is a representation of how all the regionals are turning it around. I know pre bankruptcy it was an absolute mess but that new contract really signified how a company can work with a pilot group and a lot others have followed it seems with either a TA/LOA or using YX contract as ammo for their upcoming negotiations.
Point is, this industry changes all the time and it’s hard to predict/ keep up but I think in the next few years all regionals will have so much better QOL than say 5 years ago.
