Or does Republic not do that?

Thanks
With the rain/storms over the past month I sat out of base half of my reserve periods. New York has been cluster---- and they used most of the reserves and had to fly others in. PIT hardly has any reserves so I've heard people sit out there too

Would you typically sit your entire bid period out of base or can it be just be a day or two then back to your assigned base?

When you were out of base, how often were you used?

Thanks

Some weird specific questions. It is hard to say other then it varies, everybody's experience is different. I only sat out of base once in the 4 total months I sat reserve, it was three nights in Kansas City and I didn't get used once. Some people request to sit out of base reserve at times.

I've gotten used every time. YMMV but for me I deadheaded in day 1 and then get either a bunch of day trips or a 2 or 3 day depending on how many days I had on reserve and then on the last day after the last leg they deadheaded me home

I'd say if the two months I was on reserve, probably about 2 weeks worth of out of base reserve. But DCA was cool, the train is right there and you can get to the Smithsonian real easy if they don't use you.

I actually came to Republic from another regional in the past year. In both situations I can give this advice- know your flows and call outs cold with your sim partner. Know your limitations cold. Look at your syllabus for each sim session and go through SOP and FOM, come to each session prepared with questions. The instructors will know if you did this and will have a much more favorable attitude toward you for it. I know it sounds almost like a simple task, but it will take you a long way in training.

Where is the CTP course and do they cover the cost of Sheppard air?

Also what's the itinerary for expected time on the road (and in what cities)? I hear they have a take home iPad portion of training these days.

Thanks

CTP is either in Miami or Dallas. There might be others but they were the 2 when I went through last year. Sheppard Air is covered. If I remember right once you get your date you can call them, tell them your with Republic, and give them your name and they send you the stuff.

Are you talking training? Ground is in IND, and sims are either CVG or STL. They give you an iPad day one that's your EFB and you keep it throughout your time here. There is systems training that is done at home for 2 weeks and the app is great.

About training yes... what is the typical scheduled time to be away from home and all and in which cities? Can you go back and forth on weekends once in a while?

You asked specifically about CPT. CPT is a week and a half long course, you will not be going home during it.
