Default Republic vs Eagle for new hire?

Although I would like to go to Skywest, additional 50 hr multi time I need to buy and the fact that they are not currently hiring leads me to look at Eagle and Republic. With multi minimum being only 50 hours at eagle and republic plus $5K bonus, I would eventually get $10K head start.

Anyways, Republic and Eagle, which would be a better move this month? If given an option which out of the two would you try to get into and why?

Thank you

You wont know till 5 years looking back. Pending both dont furlough you, then you will make more money at Eagle as of now. Also for now you will enjoy the best passes in the industry for pleasure travel. Eagle is very unknown, but Republic is also fairly unknown. I would just go with whoever hires you first.

I would go with Eagle. I've heard Republic is a sweat shop and the wages are an insult to humanity.

Also factor in, which one would make it easier to live in base. Commuting sucks!

Not valid for RAH. Bases open & close regularly and involuntary displacements flow like wine. We have an outstation system on all three certificates. Unless you live in CMH or IND, you'll likely have to commute at some point at RAH. Stay away from RAH. The company is coming apart at the seams.

If it were me, I'd hold out for Skywest/Expressjet. Ask yourself this- "Would I be happy/able to afford being stuck at this airline in the right seat for 5 years?" Skywest-Yes, Eagle-Maybe, RAH-NO!

That is if the base you want to get is realistic. Good luck getting PHX at Mesa Airlines or getting DEN 190 for Republic. So yes, no commuting is a good thing, but make sure you do your research on a specific base at a specific company to see what the chances of getting it within a reasonable time frame is.
