Default Medical Benefits

Greetings to all. I am considering applying to Republic and was curious how thier medical benefits are. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

Seems to be industry standard or better. Most people find the high deductible with hsa the best option. Will you need single, +1, or family?

In addition to the normal health plan that costs you money, they provide the employee with free dental and vision insurance, which is nice.

Thanks. I need family benefits with international coverage. My son will be attending the Merchant Marine Academy and needs off duty coverage when not on duty. Thanks for the responses.

The Pilot health plan with hsa is a 2700 deductible and 7500 max out of pocket for family. Republic puts 1700 into your hsa at the first of each year. For most it is the best option. Cost around 300 a month out of pocket.

The traditional plan is 1000 deductible and 5000 max out of pocket for family. It’s your normal ppo plan with copays and such. Cost about 500 a month.

Unfortunately I don’t know anything about international benefits. Maybe ask a recruiter to get you in touch with a benefits coordinator. It’s anthem insurance.

When do benefits kick in? How many days or months after starting class?

Also, what exactly do they provide uniform wise?

Benefits start 30 days after start date. Uniforms you will get 4 shirts, 2 pants, pilot blazer, hat, tie and choice between a 3 in 1 jacket (highly recommended) or the standard trenchcoat. The 3 in 1 will cost you a $100, but they don't take it out of your check until you are on the line flying.

Thank you! Thank you!

Any suggestions on which luggage to choose. I believe they only give you a choice of one piece only.

Everyone gets the larger bag (aluminum, steel or composite frame) and then you get your choice of a smaller rollaboard (for short trips), large messenger bag (will fit 15" laptop), small messenger bag (will fit 10" laptop) or a small cooler.

Most in my class went with one of the messenger bags.

Why is the 3-1 jacket recommended? Trench coat sounds pretty cool tbh
