Maximum age for new hires
 

I am getting up in years and wonder if they have an unwritten age limit.
Any new hires how old are you? Looking for older guys. I hate to get my hopes up and then be looked over due to age.

I have recently interviewed and am scheduled for class 24th of July. Out of the 12 candidates, 4 of them were in the late 40s early 50s range.

My recruiter told me they once hired a 62 year old...based on that you'll probably be fine!

They once hired a 64 1/2 year old that aged out before going to IOE.

There are about half a dozen guys in my class that range from mid 40s to mid 50s.

If they can get a good year out of you as an FO, they will hire you. So the only limit is the FAA Part 121 age restriction.

One of the other regionals just started a newly turned 64 year old in training. They will get the better part of a year out of him.

If you meet the other quals, go for it.

I was hired at RPA at 55, been there 5 years. A friend of mine who was 60 was hired into the class after mine...he turned 65 this spring.

Essentially, there is no age limit at any regional...so pull-up your Depends Sports drawers and join us!!

I already talked to them so this info is a big help. Need to get a few things squared away and get my application finished. Wish me luck, this will be a career change for me. Back to what I wanted to be 25 years ago when good jobs with decent pay were few and far between.
