Day Trips?

After lots of digging, I’m having a hard time finding anything relating to scheduling trips at RAH. Are single day trips (out and backs) regularly available? Specifically being based out of CMH? If there’s a thread already in existence that spells this kind of thing out, please point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Looking at the data for November 25% of the CMH trips are days trips. Two day trips make up about 30 percent of CMH trips.

Are these pretty desirable/going pretty senior?

Are you already on property with access to FLICA? log on and look in

Pref Bidding for Pilots>November (Not Published)>then look at the pairings for each codeshare.

Also, the pairings will change every month based on a variety of parameters.

Looking for the same % data from PHL. Haven’t started yet so don’t have access to the system.

Only if there are people senior to you who want them. Personally, I hate day trips. You can have them.

Yes there are day trips that go around, but only if senior people don’t bid for them, and you know how to bid for them correctly. I’ve been doing only day trips the past two months, but I’m actually thinking about going back to 2-3 day trips..they are usually 12 hour days, four legs..yes I get more days off and am home every night, but I’ve also noticed it’s a huge drop in pay since per diem seems to be taking a hit (and seems to be all taxable, correct me if I’m wrong). Wouldn’t be bad on captain pay, but as an FO it kind of hurts lol...making as much as if I was on reserve practically, granted I’m flying around 83-85 hours average.

Just something to think about.

Outstation based, and holding day trips is the holy grail at Republic. You will lose some perdiem, but you can spent every night in your own bed. Bonus for not worrying about the tyrannical attendance policy at Republic.

Day trips go pretty senior on the captain side, but as a almost 8 year captain I can hold two days. Actually I find you don’t lose much perdiem, and worst case just pickup a turn.

Really “tyrannical”? Its been years since Republic has terminated a pilot just for reaching 8 occurrences. Culture change is the new norm at YX. Plenty of carpet dances though...
