How can 2 year captain upgrades be possible?
With all of the talk that RPA is over-staffed with FO’s, I don’t understand how upgrade times are advertised as being only two years? Am I missing something?

You’re not missing anything, it will stop. You’re just more observant than most. Now if the 100 airplanes actually happen the train will start back up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
A “___ year upgrade” is an indicator of the present, not the future. It means people hired 2 years ago are upgrading, not that a new hire today will upgrade in 2 years. You can never tell until you see your name on the vacancy.

As you can see, yes it's still currently two years, but it's anyone's guess as to where it goes next, down or up. If you take on new airframes, it'll continue a downward trend.
I think it’ll continue on the current trend until they balance CAs and FOs better. After that, I imagine it will begin to climb again without new airplanes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It’s 2 years till award and and we get our awards 4 months out. So you start training just over 2 years and 2 months ish depending on needs and your on the line when finished. They have you start training you sooner if sim slots open up or someone gets sick or whatever reason. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
The junior award in Feb was received 1 year and 10 months on property. They try to get you in school such that you're on the line by your effective date, so that individual should be a line captain by 2 years 2 months.
The March vacancies have revealed another 28 spots. Not as much as the last few months but still a good number that should hold the award time under 2 years. |
Trust me industry is booming Captains are moving on. It will stay at 2 yrs if not better.

I’m here as an FO just curious, what are newer Republic Captains making, avg monthly credit? Anybody mind posting 2018 totals?
I know it varies widely pilot to pilot and base to base... |

I know it varies widely pilot to pilot and base to base... Just take the pay rate x 1000, and that should be close. Pay for a new Captain should be 88.44, and increases to 95.06 1 Jan 2020. You can make substantialy more if you live in base though, so YMMV. |
