Commutair or Republic

I'm trying to decide from Commutair or Republic. I have class dates for both in April. I just recently interviewed with Commutair and was impressed with them. It looks from the outside that Republic pays better, but with the bonus structure at Commutair, they actually pay better overall. I know the plane is better at Republic, but not sure what else is. Any advice?

Unless you live in or near a CommutAir base, I’d stay with YX for the pay, plane, and work rules. Also might want to consider your end goal, i.e. what major you want to go to afterward, and see which one sends more people there. Republic class dates are like gold right now, and there’s a reason for that.

You have to remember bonuses can go away at any time also. They also might have stipulations if you upgrade you lose it or that it only applys to FO’s. I don’t know anything about comuitair if this is the case.

Assuming you don’t live in base at either one, Republic - those bonuses are not secure and it ****es people off when they take a year two pay cut. YX is also allot more stable on several fronts.

I read somewhere that yx sends many pilots to SWA... Where does one find information like that?

Mostly internal, but it's true

That bonus gets you ahead of Republic pilots for one year. Then what? You will be making significantly less then Republic pilots and you will have worse work rules and QOL. But that doesn't matter, because you'll be at a Major within 3-years any way amirite?

There's a chart that comes in the training materials. Link below.

Where Republic pilots go when they leave

I must have missed that in that confusing profile page they have here. Question, why do they punish their Captains so much?
