RPA follies on social media

Curious if this is negotiating committee or hotel committee. Obviously they only change hotels if gun fire is involved.

Gravity88x 04-25-2019 02:19 PM

Page says it’s from the negotiating committee, however I am not interacting with it until the union puts out something official on it

I don’t like this strategy at all. We are 8 months prior to our early opener. Why are we soliciting dirt? This is a mid section 6 strategy.

Why would they care it’s just a C scale operation like all the rest of them.

I think it’s the stupidest thing. Having a dirty hotel room when checking in is not a Republic thing. It happens to all airlines, all crews, and all people staying at all hotels. People/ hotel workers mess up. We don’t need to make a simple mistake from a hotel that happens here and there to become republics public Facebook group problem.

Also Another regional tried to fire crew-members that liked a Facebook comment before so I’m staying as far away from this as I can.

I’m pretty sure any company would try to do that for just cause, it’s slander. Why the outrage? I remember making $22.95 and not having an RPA follies page. Sounds childish IMHO.

Page says negotiating committee. But let’s be real. The company isn’t going to negotiate when we have FO’s waiting a YEAR for a class date at a freaking regional.... what pilot shortage?

Viking6 04-25-2019 09:10 PM

Looks like the NC may not have cleared this action though the union. I would still love to know what caused this escalation. Simple email to the members would suffice.

I choose to put my trust into our NC, because the company is obviously the other team. Not going to like that page though, until the local (not just NC) puts out their position.

This may very well be what happened. The company has no reason to negotiate at the present time. Probably looking at several years before we see a TA. The cadet program and Lift will have Republic staffed for the foreseeable future.

Still not sure why you would escalate so early in negotiations.

Gravity88x 04-26-2019 03:55 AM

Have the word from a NC guy. This page is actually them. So it’s legit for what it’s worth

Rahlifer 04-26-2019 08:17 PM

I honestly don’t see the point of such a page other than giving the company ammunition for future disciplinary actions. If anyone would bother leafing through the employee manual, there’s literally an entire chapter stating that posting stuff like that on a public forum is verboten and grounds for termination. I’d tread lightly, we’re just expendable liabilities. 😳😳

I removed myself from all the stupid social media bull******, so I’m out of the loop. What’s going on?

sflpilot 04-27-2019 10:00 AM

C scale. Please define. And don’t tell me this is your hobby. It’s a job.

Basically stupid social media bull******

This whole thing is odd! Were not even in section 6 yet, so why escalate with the company? Basically they posted a page to like on Facebook, that shows problems at Republic. Why is the NC doing this now?

Btw I’m told this was approved by the union attorney. I think it’s legal, but way to early with the current information available.

Wow, I thought it was bad when I was still on the Facebook page. But these losers have now created an entirely separate page just to b**ch and moan?

Pilots suck.

Yeah apparently the point is to broadcast the “truth” to the ENTIRE Facebook public on how YX treats their pilots. I don’t believe this can be Union endorsed and there is no way this is 100 percent legal. Defaming ANY company publicly has legal consequences that may cost you your job. I’d stay away from that page.

Supposedly it is NC approved. I see a lawsuit coming if it truly was union approved.

I’m kind of speechless. The stupidity of this entire thing is mind-blowing. I knew nothing good came from that page, but this just affirms it. Wonder which union ringleader thought this was a good idea.

The whole thing is so ironic considering the union’s latest social media centered PDU. Maybe they should practice what they preach.

pacificapt 04-28-2019 04:42 PM

On what group are they posting?

Yes very odd this happens right after the latest PDU. Also the silence from the union makes you wonder WTF. I’m not even close to a kool-aid drinker, but this has very bad optics. Honestly it makes the union look worse then the company.
