class dates and Newark Base

New on here so forgive any questions that have been answered in previous threads.

So my first question is how hard is it to get a Newark base vs LGA if I ever actually make it Republic.

and my second questions is about class dates, Just trying to figure out all the confusion with class dates. Here is my situation I work at a flight school and interviewed couple months ago and received a "projected class date of September 2019". This was a bit odd to me considering 2 of my coworkers who interviewed several months prior to me received projected class dates of November 2019. Fast forward to present day and those coworkers have their times needed and nothing solid on class dates. Keep in mind over the last couple months they have been constant communications between the recruiter and them and its been something along the lines of "we will have an update for you on this date", the date comes and goes and no update other than a new date to expect an update lol. So looking at it from my point of view it feels like its just dangling a carrot so you don't go anywhere else until they can get everyone through training. It just makes no sense why they give me a projected class date of September when these guys were way ahead of me and only a couple months away from having their ATP minimums and they couldn't even get them a class date.

Just trying to get some clarity on all this because Republic is where I want to go but I just want to know if I should "Seek life elsewhere". Any insight is appreciated greatly. thank you and have a blessed day.

Both EWR and LGA are easy to get, no issues there.

As far as the whole class date mess, good luck with that. You are not going to get a clear answer on here as nobody knows, only ones that do are in the halls of the training center and it seems like they don't even know what is going on.

You can likely get EWR right out of training, or very soon thereafter. Can't really speak to your other question, but folks are talking on another thread about some spots opening up this fall. I would harass the recruiting department until I got a class date. And, IMHO, Republic is worth the wait for most people, unless you happen to live in/near another regional's base. As many have said before, living in base = much better QOL and often should trump pay and some other benefits. Of course you also want to consider where you would like to end up. For example, if your dream job is at AA, it might be better for you to have the insurance policy (notice I didn't say sure thing) of a flow from one of the WO's.

If you can drive to EWR or LGA, I would wait on Republic. Not commuting is a big plus. If you decide to go somewhere else, then research the contract before hand, because ready reserve, junior manning, or 16 hour 4 days will suck. The flow is nice, but you pay for it!

Yep. And don't forget forced upgrades into outstation bases.

It’s really not any different here? Sure there are no forced upgrades but unless you want NY you’ll be in an outstation. ORD is a joke with only 33 departures, IAH has been stagnant since opening. MIA keeps losing flying to Envoy, etc. Republic has proven over and over that they’re nothing more than a northeast airline.

So sure, no forced upgrades here. But more times than not a captain upgrade will be sent to one of our ridiculous outstations if not NY.

IAH has nearly doubled in size since it opened. It started with like 20 seats a side, and it's up to 40.

It's not big, but to say it's been stagnant isn't really accurate.

Fair, stagnant wasn’t the right word. Either way our hub bases are dwarfed by outstations was the point I was trying to make.

Funny, people at Envoy say that they’re losing flying to Republic in MIA...

Probably true, but it’s not because YX has a crappy CBA. Envoy will have EOW this summer, but I don’t think they have enough airframes to cover all the EOW routes. Oh and the flying is AA anyways.
