Republic 2019

The rumor mill has been pretty quiet for quite some time. With 100 new airplanes coming in less than a year and our 3 codeshares maxed out with their scope, what could we see in the near future?

offthebrakes 06-13-2019 03:59 AM

We are taking Mesa planes and flying before the end of the year, and looking to open PHX and LAX bases. Management is currently out there checking out hangar space.

Delta owned Compass planes will be coming our way by the end of the year.

We are opening a BOS base.

....All rumors I've heard in the last week. Good ole rumor mill!

dodsqubam 06-13-2019 06:35 AM

This thread has no chance of anything good coming from it.

stabapch 06-13-2019 07:07 AM

Regional flying for JetBlue and Southwest obviously.... Then making our unofficial flow to JB official....

Something big needs to come out of this. This company invested a lot of money into various aspects the past year.

I could see a combination of #2 and #3. We receive Compass planes, place them in BOS/LGA, and SkyWest moves back to where they belong to cover the extinction of Compass. Doubtful though.

This thread was completely started by accident. Meant to start one regarding our uptick in Boston flying and ended up creating two separate threads when I tried to change the name. Enjoy!

Any rumors about a CLT base for Republic?

Nope. I actually asked this one in the school house and they were quick to shut it down. We do a lot of flying there, but don't overnight enough a/c. It's an MX base though!

Care to elaborate on this? Sounds interesting

Oh it will be very interesting! Maybe we should wait until the official news comes out. No need to get ahead of ourselves here. This is simply a rumor started in a web forum after all...

Wouldn’t be the first time they lost money on an investment. We’re currently using our excess pilots to cover for other regionals. God I hope we don’t try to fly for Southwest!

Viking6 06-18-2019 05:46 AM

Rumors are fun, but mostly just rumors at YX. I wouldn’t worry to much about growth. Our current attrition should keep upgrades around 2 years, or maybe even less.

Just had the director of flight ops in our ground school today. He said that there are no plans for us to acquire planes from compass. For what that’s worth

amcnd 06-19-2019 04:57 AM

How many aircraft run 25.2?

Aren't we already flying a few already though?

He’s a straight shooter, so that’s probably true.

No those were originally suppose to be YX planes. We couldn’t staff them, so compass took them. I think we got them back a year ago, maybe 2 years.
BTW those planes suck!

dckpck 06-19-2019 08:18 AM

the western flying/basing has been hot and cold for a couple of years. I would guess their is some truth to it.

TheWeatherman 06-19-2019 12:15 PM

Republic will not expand out west right now with their current footprint. I believe they would only agree to a western base if they got additional flying. i.e., X airline giving us YY more 175s if we start a base a Z

Don't worry. There's zero chance of flying an orange Embraer unless that pilot is on the SWA seniority list.

All of them I’m pretty sure. No YX planes on the newer software load; I don’t think the old 170s can handle it.

Doesn't mean you are not going to BUY Compass....

I believe YX has or had 6 former Compass aircraft...

Had... We had 6, but then things got a little heated in Columbus one night and we lost one, 5 remain.
