No majors “prefer” Republic or any other regional outside of a flow. You sell yourself, the company name won’t do it for you. Anybody that says otherwise and actually has active/current applications out with no bites I guarantee I can find things in their background that either doesn’t make them competitive or doesn’t look good.

We have a lot of people going to JB because they seem to take guys a lot earlier than the others so they take the first offer. In the past they have told new hires they like RP’s training department/program. We also have civilians going to all the big three. I know of multiple FO’s that left for UA because they have a competitive resume. It’s all on you in the end.

Don't forget that Republic has most of their bases on the eastern side of the United States and so does JetBlue. With most of Republic's pilots living near the East Coast it would only make sense that a lot of Republic pilots have their apps in with JetBlue.

At the end of june AA had hired a total of 29 CIV OTS pilots in 2019. in 2018 only 50 pilots out of almost 1,000 came from somewhere other than MIL or WO

So for the near future, if American is your goal and you have no MIL background, go WO. Now, i'm not asking everyone to reach deep into their crystal ball and see the future, but... will this be a valid hiring practice for American in the future at the rate of projected retirees?

Probably not. Not unless they want to drain their WO’s in order to staff mainline. The big 3 are going to need so many pilots in the next ten years that it won’t matter where you are. You’ll get to one of them.
