Good evening. I understand you live in Austin. I also live here and I am thinking of a position at Republic. I've read on a few threads that say it's insane to work there, be junior and think it will work out. Any thoughts? PM me?

This goes with the saying don't believe everything you read (especially on here). I have been at IAH for a little over two years now, FO side has gotten much junior. Yes, the base has not grown much, but from Austin you don't have very many other good reliable options with a short commute. It's a stable company that has promising growth potential, kind of hard to beat that unless you have that and flow.

One of my friends is presently in training and I forgot to ask her about the iPad that the company gives you for your EFB. I know is it one of the larger models but was wondering if anyone knows what model they are giving for the EFB. Thanks in advance for anyone that answers.

I believe we get new ones every 4 years so look for a newer batch to come out sometime next year.

Is RPA under contract negotiations currently? If so, is it just an amendment to the current one or is an entire new contract being negotiated (I read somewhere the CA rates are going up, are FO's expected to get higher pay as well?)

How is the commuter policy at RPA, is this something that is being negotiated to be better if it is not already?

Thanks in advance.

No. We won't know anything about anything until we have a TA.

(searched for this but didn't find anything so apologies if it is out there)

Does Republic use their own instructors in the sim or is it a flight safety, L3 or whoever the company that is running the sim instructor? How are the pass rates overall?

I saw that the flat panel screen trainers are done by Republic instructors. TIA
