Agreed. Especially with new United management coming in. Things could change quick. Skywest is successful because they're cheap and truly massive. They have bases literally coast to coast with multiple code share partners in each. They can weather a blow if something changes. YX and OO are the only "super regionals" that don't have flows, cpp, whatever with any of the majors making them the outliers right now.

Republic is so reliant on the northeast that if one thing changes (Envoy in LGA, reduction in EWR due to 550 coming in, etc.) it can affect the entire operation. 2020 will be interesting, if we don't actually see those airplanes Bedford ordered like the dude above said I think it's a sign we're in trouble.

All that flying is accounted for. UA is trading GoJet 700s for ExpressJet 175SCs on a 1:1 basis.

Then that’s even worse news for Republic.

RJET has no where to go with 100 new 170s.

Thank you for summarizing this thread. RJET has nowhere to go in general. We’re expensive, unwilling to change, and have put all our eggs in one basket.

Trust in BB. God bless.

It takes money to have the best on time performance. Republic is going for quality over quantity. Can't fault them for that strategy and it seemed to work on the Delta side of things.

I have no dog in this fight, FWIW - in my opinion I doubt YX pilots should be worried about losing AUX/AA flying. You still serve three important goals.
1. Whipsaw the other partners.
2. On-time performance in tough markets, thus helping goal number one.
3. Still cheaper than maineline bringing flying back in house.

You cost more than several of the other regionals sure enough, but you get put in more difficult markets because of it. Skywest and “preferred partners” cost less, they get softer markets. There is no need to start worrying.

This thread is based on someone saying “I think” and now you’re all convinced the yx world is crumbling lol.

I don’t look at it as the world is crumbling. Because if YX does lose UAX it won’t happen for a while, I think everyone can just see the writing on wall.

I’m not too worried for the immediate to medium term future considering every time UA needs additional flying whether covering for other UAX carriers i.e IAD or IAH or for peak flying like SEA, GEG and SMF this month, we get it.

Seems like we’re a pretty integral part of the operation to me. But, I do work here and I want job security so maybe it’s my rose colored glasses.
