Because outside of SkyWest & Endeavor the alternatives in this industry are on life support.
I don’t want to fly a ****ty ragged out CRJ or alternatively, wait 4 years for a 175 upgrade to then make about 10% less than the other industry leaders.
If I get “stuck” here, I’ll be making around $200K as a CKA by the time I retire.
Our CBA is the best in the regional industry, and our pay is near the top.
We get flight benefits on 3 legacy carriers.
New hires aren’t having to wait 6 months to show up.
Our Chief Pilot is a bad ass.
Our CEO isn’t a woke virtue signaler.
Masks aren’t required in the training center.
I like our uniform.
Our Union brings pizza to the training center.
The TownPlace in Indianapolis is nice and the shuttle drivers smile when I tip them.
Any other questions, sweetheart?

You’ve got too many posts in the life support wholly owned forums for anyone here to take this comment seriously. I don’t think anyone goes to a regional airline to retire, but there are a lot of people who are killing themselves building hours for the opportunity to work at an airline. This is a pretty damn good place to “end up.”

I’m a CFI finishing up my flight time, and Republic was at the top of my list of regionals to fly for.
Solid equipment, desirable bases that I could hold, efficient flying, high pay, good work rules, strong contract for soft pay, and overall a decent quality of life are all things that Republic seems to offer from what I’ve researched. I’d be happy if I ended up there.
As one of the previous guys mentioned, aside from Endeavor and SkyWest, the rest of the options don’t really seem too great.

The tides turn really quick at the regional world. It's there to do your time and GTFO.
