But an online JSer who has the option to to nonrev in back but takes the JS and strands another pilot is a FREAKIN TOOL! We owe each other far more than we owe some ramper's pass rider. Situational awareness please.
Most cases, yes, agreed. I had it happen multiple times at the regionals where a mainline pilot (or 2) could hold seats in the back, but took the JSís to let mainline FAís junior to them get their seats.

But even then, circumstantial. And Iíve done JS committee in the past.

ALL we have is the info the OP provided.

Letís say itís me and my passrider GF (different last name) trying to get home, and ONE seat open. Sorry, Iím taking the JS and sheís taking the open seat if thatís the way the non-rev cookie is crumbling.

Is this thread for real? You going to work should somehow trump me going home? If I have higher JS priority, Iím taking the JS. Bye Felicia.

Now as a DH, I always take my DH seat. If itís oversold and an agent is trying to get a pax on, I would consider the JS but ONLY IF NO ONE else is trying to JS on that flight.

Iíll wear that hat then. You know what wouldíve been worse than bumping the D6? Bumping your friend who was using a D3 on the same flight. Didnít know she was going on that one but the agent told me if I didnít take the j/s, she wouldnít get a seat.

I knew the D3, not the 6. Sorry about their luck.

Rare exception to this rule. No hat if you know the D3, then it's understandable.

If you don't know the D3, well, here's your sign.

Well duh.

You could make up all kinds of hypothetical scenarios involving your boyfriend's cousin's high school prom date but that's not the case 99.999% of time. It's some Dudley trying to be a hero and save a nonrev without considering fellow pilots.

Am I mistaken in thinking that jumpseating on another airline is a privilege and not a right?

The veiled threats are a little pathetic.
