You'll get better info from people who have gone through it of course, but from my friends there, they have told me if you can show up to class with limitations, flows and immediate action items memorized, you'll do fine.

Did you already have a class date prior to COVID?

For the ATP/CTP just show up having studied the Sheppard Air. Once you get to class in Indy you'll do two weeks of INDOC. First week is HR, Benefits, Meet and Greets, etc and a little bit of going over the Flight Operations Manual. There will be a quiz at the end of week 1. Second week is going over the other different manuals with a small quiz/test at the end of the week. After that you'll get the ETHOS program and sent home for another two weeks of iPad study. Thats when the real fun begins. So in the mean time, just go over your Sheppard Air. They'll tell you the rest and what to prepare for when they want you to. Welcome aboard, happy to have you!

Unless they drastically changed the training curriculum after COVID, you’ll be way ahead of the curve if you show up with all of that down. I didn’t start studying for the ATP written until I was in the hotel for ATP-CTP and did quite well, but starting two weeks out from test day is the general recommendation. I began looking at the Supplemental Study Guide in the lobby after I passed the written. Flows, profiles, and callouts were the toughest things for me because I hadn’t explicitly dealt with them in my prior flying. Going to the training center with my sim partner and practicing flows on the paper tigers helped a lot as having the physical cockpit in front of you is huge for building that muscle memory. Take one thing at a time and you’ll be just fine.

First start with the term aerola. Than I would go to the strip club and fine tune my training. After that i would up my game to participating in whats called a “Russian fire drill” and only when you are ready attempt the dirty sancheZ. It can get messy. Once you have achieved all those things prepare to go full reverse cowboy over at the training g center! Good luck you will do great!

Thanks for the info. I did have a class date late last March, non-cadet.

Can we assume your string of jests run out when you reach the bottom of your tub of sour patch kids?

I would also study up on unlubricated penetration of the anus with a large foreign object (aka stuffing the turkey) to prepare for base closures and scheduling abuse.

Always a breath of fresh air. While Republic is certainly industry-leading in its base closing prowess, I don’t think it’s even in the conversation for most abusive scheduling-wise.
