They did Friday. However we got a very ominous letter from BB saying it will most likely not be enough. Not looking good for anybody right now. This is by far going to be worse than anything in the past.

For those of us that haven't been in the 121 world during a situation like this before... what is the protocol for a draw down in employees and then a recall for service? Is it one swift axe to a large group, or is it a long drawn out draw down? Once flying resumes, would everyone need to go through retraining? If so how many could they bring back at one time? I understand this is all based on the drawdown number. Just a hypothetical question. Trying to figure out whether to plan a short term plan B for a couple months, or a long term plan B for a year or longer. TIA.

From what bedford is saying, once October 1 rolls around there are going to be staff reductions. And if we don't qualify for government funds then that date moves up to the expiration of our MOU.

Just based on the reduction in demand and the bleak prospect for demand in 2021, I would imagine an initial cut of 30% of the pilot group, and then further reductions. I just think the first chop is going to be big, or it'll be two smaller chops pretty close together equalling about 30%. No evidence for this other than a gut feeling and looking at just how poor medium term outlook is.

Bedford said we have the ability to pay 1500 of our 6700 employees to remain viable with the flying we’re currently assigned. That’s a sobering thought... You think we’ll cut 30%? His numbers indicate closer to 75%. Obviously the ratio of these cuts won’t be the same across every department, but damn.
Also, if we don’t get any grant money, you think ours jobs are safe through the MOU period (end of May)? He says, “Without the grant it is clear we will not be able to delay significant reductions in our workforce.” I take that as if we don’t get any help, we’re cutting ASAP.
Like I said, I hope I’m wrong and you’re right. Fingers crossed that everyone makes it out of this okay.

I think you’re being a little overly optimistic, but I hope you’re right. Actually, I hope you’re wrong. I hope that we see no furloughs at all. But unfortunately, I don’t think that’ll happen.
