Default Air National Guard - Non Rated ALO

I am not with nor ever was a Republic employee or pilot and not a recruiter. It is sad to hear about the industry starting to furlough. I thought I would pass this along as food for thought as some may contemplate what to do for work until you can get called back or what ever. The Air National Guard has Non-Rated ALO positions if you are young enough and have the stamina. With an aviation background it may help you in this field but it isn't easy or not as easy as when I was doing it.

Check into it if you like and best of luck to everone!

Just call a recruiter about the age and they can answer but you do need to be in good shape.

There is a reason there is a age requirement,. It is a LOT of work and a HUGE commitment. Expect to get your ass kicked for over a year of training. The age requirement is just not to make sure your body can handle the training, it is also to make sure you have the mental capacity to handle it too. Would you be fine with someone 10 years younger than you yelling down your throat making you pose in the front leaning rest position for 45 minutes just because he is having a bad day? This is where it has been found that older people have the most issues and why they will usually only do the age waiver if they are desperate for applicants.

You really have to want to serve your country for this job. Although the benefits are great, enlisted pay is not. The training is hard, the mission is hard, and you will spend a lot of time away from home and family.

Yeah, this is a special ops position. This is a full commitment. You will be forward deployed to not nice places.

This isn’t a job to pass the time waiting on recall to an airline.

For the pilot position the age limit is 30 years old (actually it's 29 to apply for the intervew, you have to be prior your 30th birthday to start UPT (undergraduate pilot training). For other position the age limit is 39.

this dude has been spamming this in multiple airline threads. Given the job he is posting and amount of locations he is doing it, this is most definitely a recruiter. Those recruiter bonuses I’m sure are sounding good right now.

What is your problem? Even if what you say is true so what? The whole point was to offer something to look into nothing more. You like it fine don't like it hate the military fine move on. Multiple airline threads, only Endeavor where I worked at before retiring. If you think I can be a recruiter at 63 fine again so what? Why post here on your companies thread? I jumped seated numerous times due to living near Indy and always treated well. When I herd Republic was going to have to furlough I felt bad about it so I offered something I experienced. I wish I had known about some things sooner so I could have made choices sooner. I hope I am wrong but I feel it is going to take some time for this industry to recover and not everyone may be able to wait around to get called back and more than likely need to do something else in the mean time. You are welcome to continue making jabs if it helps you feel better but I am not interested in returning anything back. If anyone is offended from my posting here you have my apology. Good luck to everyone and thanks for the great treatment while jumpseating. I wish everyone the best!

Meh, it's ANG so maybe a year of training when it's all said and done. Then you're just drilling after that. It's just a JTAC slot so definitly not spec ops either. If you're in good shape and like the outdoors it might be a good way to help set yourself up for a UPT slot at a fighter unit later on. It depends what you're looking for, and your timeline but i doubt you're going to be suffering too badly in the ANG.
