If joining a Regional that closes bases is a concern for you I don't think you'll find a Regional out there then that is right for you. Regionals opening and closing bases is a regular thing, pandemic or not.

And his question was answered.... its the harsh reality of the airline industry. Bases open and close especially at regionals. That is a reason why you should never move in base or pick a regional solely on basing. What are people supposed to do? Lie to him and make him think everything is grand in the aviation industry right now? Lie that there aren't already thousands of type rated atps on the streets and more coming October 1? Answering his question with the reality of whats happening isn't making him feel worse about it and if his feelings are hurt by reality this is the wrong industry for them.
No participation trophies in real life. Thats a fact.
