Envoy Opening 175 MIA Base
#41
TSA and Compass were already on their way out. Covid-19 just sped up the process.
I could argue United was always looking for a way to shut down ExpressJet hence their E-175 bait and switch before Covid-19. Covid-19 just blessed United with the leverage to shut them down.

you do know every time they submit for it it’s public records right? The DOT publishes all requests for those operations.
47 actually. Any AA YX tail and the four newly painted RJet YX tail numbers are all EOW certified.

Sept before bk exit - Company negotiated a concessionary contract promising Envoy would be considered for the initial 170 flying, no second bite asking for pay cuts among other big ticket items. Two weeks later those pilots read in the news that RAH had already been awarded that contract. Obviously Garton and Winkley outright lied to the pilots but it doesn't take a genius to see why pilot groups have their own interests foremost.

You realize that the Voy had it for years with the ATR. It’s not that big of a deal. Envoy management is gunning for your routes. These guys doesn’t open a base just to do a few airplanes worth of flying. Pedro wants MIA as his crown jewel, so you’d better pray that Pastor Bedford knows how to fight him off.

Denial is one way to deal with stress, but it's not all that productive.
Respective airline managements have their priorities and ideas for the airlines. Wishing your airline does something, or the other airline doesn't do something, has zero impact on what actually happens.
