Man congrats. I’m happy to see you got the class date. I think we both interviewed around the same time as cadets. They called yesterday, they got me for December, but I might go with January

Thanks, Jsky94! I think so too. I think I was a 4/2019 Cadet, but can’t remember haha Been such a long road that I’m happy to finally be moving on! I have 1/25 class, but I might move it to 1/18. Depends on how November goes! Happy you’re right there too! PM me whenever and we’ll talk shop!

Another data point- classes about 2 to 2.5 weeks out are being offered.

That’s dangerously close to not filling classes. That’s when things will start getting interesting.

To be fair, Republic has been attempting to get around 30 people in each class since I believe mid-August. Those are big numbers - and as far as I can tell, larger than most (if not all) other regionals.

Agh I'm an idiot, I meant to say 2 to 2.5 months, not weeks.

There were doing 45-60 back in 2018...for about 4 or 5 mos I think it was. Not that I think this is a good thing but it can be done.

Per each new hire class? There were 60 new hire pilots crammed into a single new hire class? And they had enough instructors, computer trainers, and sims to get them through? So 240 in a month with 4 classes? I think you may be getting your numbers confused.

Larger than most, probably, but not the largest. The SkyWest training department is running 4 classes per month (2x CRJ and 2xERJ) at a rate of 60-70 FO's PER class in SLC and Den. Even at that rate, they are filling classes out into Apr/May on both jets right now (if you believe the posts on airlineinterviews.com). So RPA might be a close or distant second...

Don't believe me, SkyWest posted a group photo of the latest CRJ class on their LinkedIn page. I counted 68 heads, but believe 3-4 of those are instructors as I've seen them in multiple photos. The last ERJ class photo I saw had 71 (some were probably the instructors again).

I still don't know why Republic waited so long to call me. I finally got a call from them 5 MONTHS after submitting my application back in April and gave them a polite TBNT because I had moved on already. I did ask why they waited so long to call (I was a fully qualified, unrestricted applicant with ATP/CTP completed and the written passed already). Silence on the other side of the phone, but it certainly wasn't her fault, she was just following up with me to see if I was still interested. Only thing I can figure is I wasn't a "cadet" and it wasn't a high priority at the time. Not a big deal in the end.
