Initial contact made.

Just got notice of a quick 15 minute phone interview for hours/experience. But interviews won't start till after the new year, per the email. What to expect?

Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving!

For starters don’t expect a class date till q3 2023. They have a list of people to interview and plenty with a cjo still awaiting a class date and another list of people with classes that got canceled the last 3 months of 2022 that still need new dates if they are still waiting even.

Have your logbook totals done. Basically they are going to ask you what your times are for each of the required categories for the ATP Certification.

Don’t expect a class date till late next year in 2023. They have cancelled all classes for the rest of the year in 2022.

I got a CJO back in October 2022 and accepted it. When should I expect a class date?

I wouldn't expect to be in class until middle of '23. It looks like the plan is to shrink the FO side over the first six months of the year which makes sense.

Shrink to profitability. I wonder how many more airplanes they'll park in PIT in addition to the ones already there

They hired an absurd amount of FOs last year thinking some might upgrade to captain. That never happened even after the contract. I’m not on property anymore but when I was in training last summer a friend got a cjo in July and was never given a class date. You’ll have people with cjos backed up for months. Most probably won’t wait for a date and will go else where. But they are definitely going to shrink the fo side before continuing to hire.

I was given a CJO at my interview first week of October. January class. Haven’t heard anything from the company but I’d imagine it’s pushed back to April at least

Yeah, tough to tell. Their recruiting side is not great on communication. I had a CJO before you, but still haven’t heard about a class date. The previous steps were like that too

Yeah like pulling teeth. I’ve heard it’s a great company but the communication from recruiting is simply unacceptable…… but oh well. What am I going to do about it? Best of luck to you guys with class :)

All you can do is spread the word of your experience with the recruitment team to your friends that are looking to apply. That way they know what to expect and can make their decision of which airlines to apply/work for with all the expectations known ahead of time.
