Commuting for ANY company sucks... commuting for a regional with crappy schedules.... will make you cry. |
After a couple months of commuting out of Florida, you will probably hate life. If you get the Republic cert avoid PIT and GSO at all costs as they are the least commutable. DCA and PHL are the easiest commutes with the most commutable trips but you will be on reserve so it won't matter.

almost all the bases in the entire RAH system are out station meaning early shows 430-700 am and late finishes 2200 and later. The most commutable bases are IND and SDF on fed ex and ups.

I don't work there, but RAHcontractnow.org
Read it. Has some words about commuting. ON THE OTHER HAND, HEY MAN, you will get to fly the heavy iron. |
You will start out on reserve for awhile. Which means only 11 days off. Which means you can expect something like 5 on, 2 off, 6 on 3 off, etc.
You will almost never have more than 3 off. Your first day off you spend the morning commuting home, and the last day of your day off you spend the evening commuting up to start reserve at 3am. Get ready to hate life. |
A 2 leg commute for a regional = no life at all. I would pass... or start drinking heavy.

Which certificate,Shuttle, Republic, or Chautauqua?
|
Is GSO a senior base?
|
Hows commuting on the shuttle side?
