AA will offer to Eagle pilots 50% of the pilot positions (net of any AA pilots returning from deferred furlough status) in that class, and each subsequent class, until 824 Eagle pilots have been hired at AA.

b.
The intent of this agreement is to provide 50% of the AA new hire training slots to 824 AE pilots in such a way that the AE operation is not disrupted.

c.
As such, AE management will release no fewer than 20 AE pilots per month in a month in which AA is entering new hire pilots into training, in an effort to meet the 50%. If AE management determines that they can release more than 20 pilots in any given month, they will do so.

I hope and pray that you are right. However, I happen to know that the union is meeting again to see the impact of the merger on the flow of the 824. I hope that the above numbers stay. Even so, I can see the "operational considerations" as a way to breach the contract. ALPA will sue, it will take another 8 years to get an arbitration, and many pilots will get screwed. If we are fat on pilots, 60% go over guaranteed. Why limit ourselves to the 20 per month if AA is hiring 80 a month?

No meeting is scheduled or has taken place. It is a four party agreement, meaning all parties must agree to any changes.

The reason the company will meter will be staffing requirements.

He is referring to the meeting that must take place if there is a merger.

Yes there is that one, I don't believe it's to discuss the impact on flow as much as to ensure everyone is on the same page.

Well it better be to discuss the impact of the merger on flows!

"If American Airlines were to acquire or employ pilots employed at another carrier who are not currently employed by AA or on furlough from AA for any reason, including merger or acquisition, AA will meet with the Eagle representatives from the Air Line Pilots Association within thirty (30) days o f the announcement o f the transaction to discuss the projected effect of the merger or acquisition on the timing
o f the 824 new hire positions."
