Court approves amended Republic-United Agreem
|
"allows for further deliveries of Embraer 175s under revised new aircraft delivery schedules."
Sounds like future growth, for Republic. |
You left out the part that said "under certain conditions." Who knows what those conditions are. It doesn't mean future growth. It just means that if they can satisfy those "certain conditions" they can grow. I would bet my paycheck that one of those conditions is being able to staff them.

How stable is the DCA base? Any rumors about possible close? Trying to stay commutable! Via car.

How senior, or junior are EWR and ORD?
|
Even if Republic could staff additional 175s, isn't UA scoped out on large RJs?

Scope limit should increase when the B737-700s start coming online right?

Oh okay, thought I read somewhere a while back in a United press release that for every 100-120 seat jet the order, that United could order 3-4 76 seat RJs. Couldn't find it though.

You are correct. Problem is the 737's are over that seating capacity.. So the union says sorry no more RJ's
Fewer RJs = more mainline jobs. You know the math by now. |

Not exactly. The 737-700 seats less than 120 (118 if I remember correctly), but UAL would have to have a new small narrow body order to trigger an increase in the scope clause. C-series and EMB 190 orders would fit this bill, not the 737 or A319 additions. This is definitely not a "problem", it's actually a very good thing.
Fewer RJs = more mainline jobs. You know the math by now. They can easily get more seats on the 700 to circumvent the scope issue. Ours at Delta has 124 total in our 3 class layout. My guess is UAL has a mid-cabin closet unlike us. |

Key word is NEW aircraft. United must buy a NEW small narrow body aircraft that is currently NOT on the certificate. United will get as many 175s as it wants. They just have to park CRJ 700s. |

Scope has nothing to do with how many seats are in the 737-700.

That seems to be the plan correct? Continue to shed 700s and replace them with 175s within current scope limits of course.
