Air Medical flight down in ND - 3 fatal
This one hits REALLY close to home. I knew Chris personally, Todd and Bonnie in passing. My agency was tasked with death notifications that night and at my prior job, BAM was one of our customers. For those local to the area, it sounds like there will be a full honors service Monday morning at the Bismarck Civic Center.

I know the sorrow of losing comrades in the air ambulance field. In total I knew 11 folks who died in the field.
My heart goes out to you and the families of the crew. It is never a happy time, but we who have served did so with a very subtle pride: we helped someone who needed help. And at the end of the day we went home knowing we had done some good. Your friends have done a bunch of good. It sucks to lose them, but always remember... They did a bunch of good. Condolences to family and friends of those lost.

Lives lost remembered in Sunday's deadly plane crash near Mandan

Terrible, startling loss. Wonderful send off by their fellow first responders and the local community. Hard for me to imagine a better farewell.
Can't help but wonder if the accident history of that aircraft played a part.... |
