Default Sukhoi Superjet crashes in Moscow

At least 40 dead as of now. Lots of video showing the plane on fire as it touched down.

Another source has said the plane took a lightning strike which caused a small fire in the cabin. It also suggested the flight controls lost normal law. There’s a video that shows a very hard bounced landing and the jet catching on fire externally due to that.

The plane was a Sukhoi SSJ-100 operated by Aeroflot.

A video shows a horribly botched landing with a huge bounce, push the nose down, and collapse the gear. That's when the plane catches fire.

It was already experiencing some king of emergency before the landing. Rumors are either an engine fire, electrical failure, or flight control failure after takeoff.

The captain said it was a fire before landing. Not sure why you would still land like that. Anytime you shove the nose over bad things happen.
