That was made in jest at those in the previous thread that were blaming minority pilots for the crash, and at least with two posters (their posts were removed) the racial tone was clear. I haven't seen them respond here yet.

William Langewiesche's article misses the mark. This wasn't a simple runaway trim. It was a complex failure that started with an entirely different component failing. They were dealing with a stick shaker and mismatch of airspeed information and while trying to figure that out, had MCAS operate on them.

No critical flight control feature should ever have been hooked up to just one probe/sensor. It goes against every design safety measure. The probably cause should go against Boeing and the FAA for their design and certification of MCAS, including the single sensor only setup, unlimited activation of the MCAS cycle, and large trim inputs per 10 second cycle, along with their willful removal of MCAS from the manuals. Contributing causes should be the pilot actions.
