Kallita RTO 737 [Over-Run]
Kalitta 737 freighter involved in Rochester runway incidentBy Jon Hemmerdinger5 June 2020None of the three people aboard the aircraft were injured in the incident, which occurred at about 09:55 local time, according to the National Transportation Safety Board, which is assessing the incident. The jet was taking off from Rochester for a flight to Hartford Bradley International airport. Following the rejected take-off, the 737 came to a stop on the left side of Rochester’s Runway 22, the NTSB says. https://d3lcr32v2pp4l1.cloudfront.ne...202_749680.jpg Source: Greater Rochester International airport The Kalitta Charters II Boeing 737-400 Special Freighter ran off the runway at Greater Rochester International airport in New York on 5 June 2020. Due to the aircraft’s location, the Greater Rochester International airport closed both its prime runways – 10-28 and 04-22. The airport has since reopened one runway. Few details are known about the cause of the incident, which involved a 28-year-old 737 (registration N733CK) painted in the colours of express package delivery company DHL. However, the Rochester Airport Firefighters union tweeted, “According to scanner audio, aircraft experienced a mechanical issue before veering off the runway”. https://d3lcr32v2pp4l1.cloudfront.ne...0620_66943.jpg Source: Rochester Airport Firefighters Union A Boeing 737-400 Special Freighter operated by Kalitta Charters II came to rest on grass prior to takeoff at Greater Rochester International airport in New York on 5 June 2020. The jet had arrived at Rochester at 08:35 that morning from Cincinnati, according to Flightaware.com. Neither Kalitta Charters II or the Federal Aviation Administration responded to requests for more information. Boeing delivered the 737-400 new as a passenger aircraft to British Airways in 1992. In 2017, Kalitta acquired the jet and converted it to the freighter configuration. Topics |

From your Brown brother glad everyone is ok🙏

Also, where do you get "Belly UP"? From the pictures it appears that all gear are down and locked and that very little if any damage was done to the aircraft. Do you have an axe to grind with Charters II?

Belly Up is a little dramatic dont you think? i see three gear down and locked and the engines dont appear to be compromised. I see the fake news has made it to APC

..... couldn’t spell the name of the airline correctly , described the incident using false / misleading words in the title of the post , no wonder people are frustrated when uninformed , incompetent and inexperienced posters post here. A perfect example of fake news. James2016 you should apologize.

Bingo. This was one of the stupidest posts I’ve seen here in a while (unless OP is 14 and doesn’t know much about airplanes, in which case it’s cool)
|
God I hope no one can is actually letting the OP fly airplanes!

Hope the first thing those guys did was to call the union hotline to get their attorneys involved.

Maybe now somebody will understand the importance of all of the pilots under the same tent. This is exactly what your union dues pay pay for.

Nobody cares about a couple pilots at K2. Just don't wish too hard for something, you might get it. Your union protects you, the pilot, should anything occur that might jeopardize your employment. This is exactly why you pay union dues. There is something fundamentally wrong with this sort of attitude.

I'm an Atlas captain. We hope the guys at K2 are alright. I haven't heard anyone saying anything snarky in real life about this event.
